Rationale The more closely integrated is O&M within the GEOSS architecture, the simpler will be the task of registering new services and components also conforming to O&M; since O&M provides a very general and powerful model it will drive interoperability at the provider level.
Dependencies Work is currently underway (e.g. within the Architecture Interoperability Pilot coordinated by OGC) towards refining the GEOSS architecture. Ideally there would be the opportunity to encourage participants to adopt approaches using O&M.
