Additional information

Context Each initiative has defined its own discovery metadata elements. This mapping would help identify precisely the commonalities and discrepancies between the discovery metadata profiles. It is the first step towards interoperability, as it would allow client applications and catalogue services implementing transformations based on these mappings to transparently access discovery metadata from the different initiatives in a fixed, standardized way. Harmonization of these discovery metadata elements is the next step.
Rationale
Dependencies REC-CAT-001 Cross-initiative scenario
